I was working at the Saturday Widespread Panic concert and wanted to let you know how impressed I am with your organization and the staff working the event. All I saw from them was hustle the entire time. They were very good about not interfering with the attendee’s enjoyment of the show, but I never saw a can overflowing. I really appreciate that they drove the cart at a slow controlled speed since golf carts are the #1 cause of injuries at events.

I am a long-time fan of Mary’s since I did the ribbon-cutting for the West Approach of the Bay Bridge with her in 2009 and I sing her praises everywhere I go. Whenever I have an event, I always do my best to make sure Green Mary is part of our event team. This is our first real in-person event in a couple of years, so I’m excited that I have another opportunity to work with your amazing organization.

I just wanted to thank you for the exceptional service your team provided.  They far and away exceeded expectations.   Your team was an integral part of the success of the event.  They worked tirelessly to maintain a spotless event.   They were all incredibly professional and I would highly recommend them to anyone, especially your lead.   I would want to work with them on all future events.

My work in catering takes me to events all over the San Francisco Bay, including many where Green Mary is working.

What I have noticed is, when Green Mary is there, there’s a sense of mindfulness and care that really makes the event special.  Somehow, there’s an attention to detail wherever Green Mary goes, almost like a compassionate person looking after the situation.

With Green Mary, I feel the Earth is being respected, so that automatically carries over to the overall experience at the event.

Green Mary staff seems extremely devoted, and I feel that speaks volumes about how you respect your people.

Just a quick note to say how happy I was with the services for SFDW at Pier 27. I didn’t have to think about if the trash was getting emptied, find anyone, or call anyone. I also didn’t receive any complaints about trash. A coordinators dream! Your team was nice, happy and on top of it the whole time.

I recall in your excellent talk at the NCRA Recycling Update last week that you have a hand-out of earth tips, & I bet they are excellent. But I couldn’t find exactly that on your web site (thought I did find a lot of other great stuff!). I’m assuming these tips are something simple & concise, and would like to print up to hand out at our Earth Day event. Is it something you could email?

I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the opportunity to have been a part of something so wonderful. I spent the weekend sorting in the bins, picking up litter, and talking to people about what was to be composted versus recycled. Your bins were well decorated with examples and your presence was everywhere – even in the loo.

I consider it an honor to have been able to take part in this experience and to have said that I worked for you at my first festival. I hope you will consider me again next year.

Great job again, Mary and the Green Team…

We do events like this all over the country – Chicago, New York, Toronto, Atlanta and New Orleans and in my 39 years of event production, nobody does it better!

Green Mary – you and your crew are unbelievable. You all busted your butts all day long at the 4th of July which is a very long day and were still smiling at 11PM.

I can’t thank you enough.

I was VERY impressed with the environmental consciousness at the Hairrison Street Fair in San Francisco last Sunday. VERY impressed. I have always been shocked at the waste that I’ve seen going on at street fairs and festivals and have, at times, been ashamed that our out-of-state visitors were seeing Californians displaying apparent disregard for the environment (after the good image California has for environmental concerns). Thank you for working with the Hairrison Street Fair people to make this event such a planet-friendly event!!!

I am going to write a letter to the editor of the local gay/lesbian papers expressing my appreciation for the greening of the Hairrison Street Fair. I wonder if I can provide a link to your website in this letter?

Anyway, THANK YOU for your GREAT work!!!!

Your Crew rocked!

They did an amazing job throughout the event and even more so during the clean-up.
We had less than a day to turn the property around for an incoming group this afternoon and the only reason that we were able to successfully do so is because of your Crew and their tenacity and hard work.

And if that wasn’t enough, to top it all off, they were such a great group of people – VERY friendly, approachable, proactive and just great energy to be around.

Although I did thank them (profusely!!!!), I would be grateful if you could once again let them know how much their dedication and hard work was appreciated, with an extra big thanks to Peter Bob with whom I had most of my dealings – always gracious, he is a great representative for your company.

Kudos to the crew!

On March 25, 2010 – Green Mary and an all-volunteer crew greened the Annual Sonoma County Democratic Crab Feed for the third year in a row and hauled 820 pounds of crab carcass and other organic waste to the compost facility where the sea gulls had a second go at it. We achieved a 98% diversion rate and made under five pounds of “garbage” which was the soiled garbage and crab bags.

After a presentation highlighting this stat, Arthur Boone, president of the Northern California Recycling Association commented:

“98% diversion is the new standard in events; anything less means they aren’t trying.”
